Week Seventy-Five: March 26th, 2012

My New Companion Elder Guevara from Honduras

Dear Family,
How are things going? Well we had another good week. Jessica was baptized on saturday and confirmed on Sunday. Also we received the phone call that Elder Sanchez has changes. Well President decided to do something different this change. We had changes a day early. So they have already happened. And my New companion is Elder Guevara from Honduras. I don't know him too much because I just barely met him like 3 hours ago but I'll tell you more next week. We did feel 2 trembles they call them this week. We had one on like wednesday night at 4:30 that actually woke me up. The other was yesterday and it lasted for about 10 seconds but was way more intense. It was awesome. Well this past week was a good week and we are looking forward to another great week with General Conference. We will watch it at the Stake Center and we will be there all day. I hope you all are doing great and I look forward to talking to you later.
Love, Elder Holton

Week Seventy-Three: March12th, 2012

Dear Family,
We have had another fantastic week. Things are going great out here. I think I might stay out here for another few years. Haha Well to start off María José passed her baptismal interview. We are very excited and are working to prepare her for her baptism. She already has a lot of friends from the ward. She'll have her baptism this Saturday. Jessica is doing very well also. We are preparing her for her baptismal interview. The other baptismal date we have is named Pablo. He is doing well. We put a baptismal date with him this past week and he went to church yesterday. We have the date for the 31st of March. So we'll see what happens when we get there. The pension is holding up good. We are just going to hang in there. We are also working on dividing the ward into sectors to organize FME activities. We have a lot of momentum that we have to take advantage of. We are working on finding new investigators to teach. Well I hope you all have a fantastic week.

Week Seventy-Two: March 5th, 2012

Dear Family,
This has to have been one of the best weeks I've had in awhile. And the thing that is the most funny is my birthday had absolutely nothing to do with it. Well to start off we put a baptismal date with Jessica for the 24th of March. She is progressing really well. She's just golden. Also we put a baptismal date with María José for the 17th of March. She also is progressing just amazingly. We taught the Word of Wisdom and the Law of Chastity and she accepted them both so fast. haha Steve came to church this yesterday. We are working with him. Yesterday in the chapel we had 5 investigators. It was just awesome. The Zone Leaders said last night that they are very pleased with this past week with my District.
I am doing great. I had an awesome birthday. The package was great and we made the brownies and they were great. Last night I was calling the missionaries in my district for their numbers and President called. I almost didn't answers thinking it was some Elders calling me back but I decided to just make sure and check. Good thing right? Well President with Sister King and their Daughter Ellie all sang Happy Birthday to me. That was awesome.
After we are done here we are going to go shopping and then go buy some completos! My companion is really tired so I will probably write letters while he is sleeping. Haha!!
Well I hope you all have a great week.
Love,
Elder Holton

Week Seventy-One: February 27th, 2012

Dear Family,
This has been an excellent week. We had 3 investigators in the chapel yesterday. The first is Jessica. She is a daughter of a less active family who basically decided to go back to church. Jessica is awesome. She has been reading and praying and wants to be baptized. Tonight we have a appointment with her and we are going to put a Baptismal Date. Second is María José. We found her knocking doors. She is awesome also. She is progressing really well. We've talked a lot about baptism and she understands that to have the gift of the holy ghost she has to be baptized. Well yesterday she went to church for the first time. Today we also have a appointment with her and we are going to ask her what she felt in the chapel. She believes the Book of Mormon is true which is the key to everything so that's good. The third investigator in the chapel is named Adriana. She has been investigating for a while. Before the doubt was she had to get married. Well they got married and so we taught Lesson 3 and when we got to baptism she said that she didn't want to be rushed with her baptism and started crying.
So we are a little nervous to bring it up but we haven't even had a chance to teach her recently. But her husband and mother in law are members so she goes to church and everything. Steve is doing good but he didn't go to church this week and doesn't want us to pass by. He said that he informed he evangelical church that he wants to take a year break and that he wants to take some time and think about everything. It is a big step for him to leave his church. But this week we had a ward activity and Steve came. We are going to go visit him this week.

We are looking for a new pension again. The office is kinda busy and can't help us right now. It's that the owner didn't tell us that we can't throw toilet paper in the toilet. Well we clogged it. Our plumber came and said that it isn't a problem with the toilet but with the building. So we called the owner and she basically said that we can't throw toilet paper in the toilet. So we expressed that we are kind of annoyed that she didn't note this defect before we started renting. Well She basically went straight anti American and basically started saying things like "who do you think you are coming to this country and throwing toilet paper in the toilet. We aren't in America
where life is so great." and on and on and on. President wasn't exactly happy. So we're out.
The thing is the mission has 70 pensions (house or apartments) and with everyone of them we can throw toilet paper. But honestly we just don't want to have to deal with the owner so we are out.

The weather is starting to cool off a little now! We are doing really good. I hope you guys have a great week.

Week Seventy: February 20th, 2012

Dear Family,
This week had been a great week. We are loving the new appartment. The work is going great. We were able to get right back on our feet and get running with the work. We have several investigators we are working on that are progressing very well so we just have to keep it up. I recently heard that Elder Smith was made a zone leader. That was way cool. They also created another zone in the mission. So there are 12 zones.
I hope you are doing great.
Love you all.
Love,Elder Holton

Week Sixty-Nine: February 13th, 2012

Dear Family,
Well I'm sorry to say that this letter this week is going to be a little shorter than normal. Well this has to be the busiest week I've had with the least amount of Proslyting work. We had 2 divisions this week. I had to inspect 2 pensions. I had to teach iniciatives to the zone on wednesday. We had a meeting president on thursday and we have been trying to move. I'm just glad it's over and I can focus on the work. Changes are tomorrow and neither me or Elder Sanchez have changes so we'll be together for another 6 weeks which will be great. Elder Dorios (Senior Missionary) helped us move with a truck from the mission. Honestly the biggest thing that happened this week is we changed pensions. As of Saturday Night we slept in the new apartment. We are very happy and look forward to living here and working even harder. Well I hope you guys have a great week.
Happy Valentines.
Love,
Elder Holton
